Ernie Hunt was another one of “Bert’s Babes”, a group of young players thrown in at the deep end as Swindon Town Football Club entered the 1960’s. The Swindon-born forward soon showed star quality, helping fire Swindon Town into the Second Division and gaining England under-23 honours before eventually being sold to Wolves.
